Morning rush
You're running late and nobody is dressed and you can feel yourself sharpening.
Try saying
- “Backpack in your hand. Walking to the door.”
7:45am and shoes are still off
- “We'll talk about why this is hard in the car.”
7:45am and shoes are still off
- “I'm not mad. I just need you to move.”

For each age
Preschool (3–5)
- “Shoes next. I'll help.”
- “I know mornings are hard. We're almost there.”
- “No talking right now. Just walking.”
Kids match the loudest body in the room. If you go quiet, the room follows.
School (5–12)
- “Backpack in your hand. Walking to the door.”
- “We'll talk about why this is hard in the car.”
- “I'm not mad. I just need you to move.”
Stand at the door instead of following them around. Hovering accelerates the freeze. Becoming a fixed point lets them orient toward you.
