Avani began at my family’s table.
From Mirra Wicker, founder. Licensed therapist. 15+ years practice. 100k+ following.
I’m Mirra Wicker, a licensed therapist, a certified parenting coach, and a mother of two. For fifteen years I’ve sat with families in the moments that never make it into the parenting books. The meltdown before school. The words you wish you could take back. The bedtime that falls apart.
I’ve come to believe that raising a child depends less on technique than on presence. I mean the calm you can hold onto when everything in you wants to react. That kind of presence has to come from somewhere. Mine came from home.
I grew up in a family that knew how to gather. We didn’t gather to fix one another or to trade advice. We sat together honestly until things felt clear again.
There is a Sanskrit word for that: satsang, “to gather in truth.”
Whenever my family needed each other, my father would say, “Come. Let’s have satsang.”
In the last month of his life, my mother, my brothers, and I gathered in satsang often. We shared our fears, our stories, our hopes. Those gatherings held us, and they healed us. It is the deepest thing he ever taught me.
Avani is how I carry that practice forward. I didn’t build it to be a therapist, and it won’t replace one. I built it to be a guide for satsang, a steady presence you can return to in the middle of real parenting. With it, the small daily moments and the deeper work of raising a family finally live in the same place.
About Mirra Wicker
Mirra is a licensed therapist, a certified parenting coach, and a mother of two. For 15 years she’s helped families handle big feelings and build strong, secure bonds. She’s worked with hundreds of parents, and more than 100,000 people follow her parenting content.
Therapy changes lives. It isn’t always there in the moment you need it most.
As a licensed therapist and certified parent coach, I’ve sat with hundreds of families. I’ve seen ruptures and repairs up close, and the moment when a parent softens, breathes, and chooses connection over control.
So we built a different kind of support:
- A guide for when you’re about to lose it in the kitchen, the car, or at bedtime.
- A compassionate presence when guilt, fear, or shame take over.
- A way to pause and reconnect before the chaos pulls you under.
Avani is for the parent who has nothing left to give, and for the ones breaking patterns passed down in their family. It is for anyone who wants to raise kind, emotionally connected kids without losing themselves along the way.
Avani is a companion you can come back to, again and again.
Welcome to Avani. We’re honored you’re here.
